Local artist Greg Gutierrez’s paintings are always a huge part of the annual Windansea Board Fishing Tournament and this year was no exception. Gutierrez’s surfboard painting of a marlin went to grand prize winner Eric Brown for his 25-pound white sea bass. Another painting went to Pat and Mike Bessie, whose Pacifically Landscape has sponsored the popular Dash For Cash every year. The Bessie brothers were honored for their loyalty and support of the tournament. And a third Gutierrez painting went to La Jolla’s Mark Scales for the winning the Dash For Cash. Gutierrez fished in the morning at Sunday’s 16th edition of the tournament but left the beach before noon to celebrate his son's birthday.
